Our Story

Built for Nigeria.
Designed for Trust.

We didn't set out to build a tech company. We set out to fix something broken — and what we found changed everything about how institutional assets are bought and sold in Nigeria.

The Beginning

It started with a frustrating phone call.

In 2020, a bank in Lagos was trying to dispose of a repossessed fleet of vehicles — over 40 units sitting idle in a yard, depreciating by the day. The recovery officer reached out to three separate auction houses. One never called back. The second sent a valuer who never filed a report. The third quoted a commission so steep it wiped out most of the recovery value.

That experience was the seed of eAuction Nigeria.

"I spent six weeks trying to sell assets that any buyer would want — good vehicles, clear documentation, motivated seller. The system wasn't just inefficient. It was designed to benefit everyone except the institution and the buyer."

That led to a simple question: What if the whole process lived online, in real time, with full transparency? Not a listing site. Not a classifieds board. A proper auction engine — with verified bidders, escrow-protected payments, live countdowns, and a complete digital paper trail.

Why Nigeria Needed This

Nigeria has one of Africa's largest concentrations of institutional asset disposal — banks, government agencies, leasing companies, and corporate bodies collectively move tens of thousands of high-value items every year. Yet almost all of it happened through informal networks: word of mouth, selective invitations, and face-to-face negotiations that were nearly impossible to audit. Prices were depressed. Corruption was rife. Genuine buyers had no reliable way in.

eAuction Nigeria was built to change that.

How We Grew

We launched our first pilot in early 2021 with a single institutional client. The results were immediate: assets sold for an average of 23% more than previous offline estimates, and the entire process — from listing to payment — took days, not months.

We grew by listening to the institutions using us, rebuilding what wasn't working, and earning trust the old-fashioned way — by delivering results, auction after auction.

Six principles we refuse to compromise on

Verified Trust
Every seller and bidder is KYC-screened. No anonymous participants. No unverified transactions.
Radical Transparency
Every bid is logged. Every price is visible. Every outcome is documented for audit and compliance.
Escrow Protection
Funds are held securely until both parties confirm the transaction. No seller risk. No buyer risk.
Real-Time Fairness
Live bidding with visible countdowns. The best price wins — not the best connection or the loudest voice.
Inclusive Access
Any verified Nigerian with internet access can bid. The playing field is level by design, not by accident.
Local Ownership
Built in Nigeria, for Nigeria. Every decision we make is guided by what works for the Nigerian market.
